Relaxed eating overlooking the South Downs...

It's all about the Kitchen Garden and we celebrate the seasons using only the best, freshest and most authentic foods and ingredients. What our Chefs serve up depends on what the Forager supplies and what our Kitchen Garden team harvest on the day. This means that even though our menus change daily, our focus on quality stays the same.

Kamil, our Head Chef at THE PIG-in the South Downs, and his brigade work hand-in-hand with the Kitchen Gardeners to create the 25-mile menu – made up of daily harvested garden produce and fresh ingredients from small West Sussex producers, farmers and fishermen, who supply anything that we cannot grow, produce or catch ourselves.

At just under an acre, our walled garden is steeped in history with old Espalier apple trees, vines and an orchard made up of mature pears, apples and cherry trees. We have introduced two large polytunnels that not only grow a wide variety of sweet peppers, tomatoes and basil, but is also a nursery where we experiment with specialist plants. There's even a nuttery and mushroom house - all cared for by Head Kitchen Gardener Alex and his team. The Victorian greenhouse is this Kitchen Garden's jewel in the crown, and has been sensitively restored whilst protecting the ancient vine inside!

Tuck into our 25-mile menu at the restaurant in the heart of the house, or enjoy some outdoor eating on the terrace, with far-reaching views overlooking our very own vineyard.

Menus

THE PIG’s commitment to a 25-mile menu not only supports West Sussex’ suppliers but means we can be 100% honest about the provenance of our ingredients.

Take a look at our menu to get a feel for what we will be serving. Please note these are subject to change.

Our restaurant is open daily

Lunch from 12pm  - 2.30pm
Dinner from 6pm - 9.30pm

When you are with us please just ask the team if you have any questions about the menu, allergies or your dietary requirements.

If you would fancy a drink in the bar before eating, just arrive around  30 minutes before your table booking.

Outdoor eating on the restaurant terrace is on a first-come first-served basis, weather dependent for restaurant guests only. If you would like to dine outdoors we advise booking a table during our first lunch sittings at 12 – 12.30 to secure a place in the sun. Please note the restaurant terrace is not bookable.
